Some opportunities require more training and time commitment than others. Certain positions might currently be filled, but waitlisted or “back up” volunteers are needed. Some volunteers are also called on an “as-needed” basis.

Current Opportunities

Administrative Volunteer

Administrative volunteers provide clerical support that helps the agency function smoothly and effectively. Volunteers are needed to assist staff by answering phones, filing, typing, data entry, data clean up, data maintenance, and copying. Experience with databases and computer programs is desired.

Children’s Program Volunteer

The Children’s Program at Camden House focuses on providing a safe, nurturing environment for children. Volunteers in this program interact with the children during playgroups and scheduled activities, modeling non-violent behavior and teaching life skills.

Donations Volunteer

Camden House offers its residents and their children clothing and supplies as needed. Volunteers are needed to sort clothing and household items that have been donated, arrange the clothing in the boutique, and assist residents with selections. Volunteers also assist staff with drop-offs and help distribute items.

Events Volunteer

Camden House hosts a number of events throughout the year to raise awareness about domestic violence and to support our programs. Volunteers are needed to assist with holiday celebrations, fundraising events, and more.

Special Projects / Life Skills Volunteer

Special Projects / Life Skills Volunteers help to fill Camden House immediate needs, or donate their specific skills to our agency. For example, a volunteer might lead a yoga workshop for shelter residents, teach them how to knit, or be available to move supplies or shred documents as the need arises.

Move Out Volunteer

Our goal at Camden House is to help survivors transition into safe, abuse free homes. When that time comes, help is needed moving furniture and other items into their new homes. Access to a truck or trailers are also helpful to facilitate these moves.

Maintenance Volunteer

Camden House is a 12,000 sq. ft. facility with on-going maintenance and repairs needs. This could include painting, trash removal, yard work, minor repairs, etc.

Our Mission & Vision

Our mission is to support victims of domestic violence as they become survivors and lead healthy, abuse free lives.

Our vision is to be the premier non-profit in Camden County using a trauma-informed care service model to meet the needs of domestic violence victims and support them as they overcome barriers.  We have the right people (staff and board) and financial resources in place to support our organization’s mission.
